The Modern Quilt Guild Showcase.

March – April: Main Gallery

This vibrant group as worked together to explore the art of

quilting and more! This showcase of work by area artists will

showcase a full range of textile skills – from the large to small

 – and include a winning piece from the Water is Life, Geneva,

USUN Art Quilt Exhibit.

 

Year of the River Architecture Tour by the Cooley House Foundation

A tour of major river historic architecture beginning at the Cooley House in Monroe and continuing to Layton Castle, Synope Plantation, Graves Plantation, Martin Homeplace, and the Schepis Museum.

Caitlyn Dionne

June - Upstairs Gallery

Young, emerging artist Caitlyn Dionne will showcase her photography that centers on her love of horses. “I love capturing the beauty of the relation between the horse and rider as well preserving the culture and heritage shared by all equestrians!” – Caitlyn Dionne. This exhibit is an excellent accompaniment to the Lions Club Rodeo in Caldwell Parish – June 6-8th.

 

Week Long Kids Camp

During the day children will have the opportunity to explore the sciences, engineering, and the arts through photography, painting and more! More details to come with partnerships with the ULM Museum of Natural History, American Chemical Society, Friends of Black Bayou, and area teachers.

 

Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate July 4th in Columbia! Music, games, food and more from 6-9 with fireworks closing the evening at 9pm. Don’t miss this free community event!

 

Making a Movie: Dinosaurs!

Come experience the art of making a film and find out more about the Monster of Caldwell unearthed in the early 1800’s! Exhibits will include models from the ULM Natural History Museum Collections and more!

Come experience the rich bio-diversity that make Louisiana so unique. Back by popular demand, this exhibit will showcase a variety of works by area hunters and craftsmen that showcase why Louisiana is truly a sportsman’s paradise!

 

Emery Thibodeaux

September 14- October: Upstairs Gallery

Emery Thibodeaux regional artist, muralist and designer will showcase her new series. Emery works with the Herons on the Bayou project, Arrow Public art and much more. This series is not to be missed!

 

Biodiversity of Louisiana

October – November: Main Gallery

The rich biodiversity of Louisiana will be further showcased by this group of Nature Photography from award winning area photographers. Award winning images from throughout Louisiana and the South will be showcased in this diverse look at the natural splendor of our region.

 

The Louisiana Art and Folk Festival
